Talks

Here's a list of talks that I really like. Similarly to my book ledger, I keep this list for two reasons:

  1. Seeing a list of talks I have enjoyed inspires me to continue watching new talks.

  2. I think these talks are so great that I wish to recommend them to others.

Software

SQLite walkthrough by the author of SQLite, D. Richard Hipp (1 hour 7 minutes).

  • Recommended if you use SQLite or if you are interested in databases in general.

The Future of Programming by Bret Victor (32 minutes).

  • Inspirational talk about alternative programming models.

Hammock Driven Development by Rich Hickey (40 minutes)

  • Inspirational talk on the necessity of focus and downtime.

Biology

What Bodies Think About: Bioelectric Computation Outside the Nervous System by Dr. Michael Levin (52 minutes).

  • I was awestruck by this talk the first time I saw it, and still am. Very excited about the future of this research.
